So trying to figure out how to play the-atolls song “Teenage Sex” on uke.

Unsurprisingly, I can’t copy the rather simple rhythm, so I’m sticking to a 4/4 swung eighth note beat.

Also, this song is long! I guess I never realized it.

Also, also, listen to the damn thing because it’s a fun little ditty.

Denis Ricardo is a talented photographer/badass. He is one of precious few people able to capture our live performances with the kind of immediacy and energy such photos require.

He also accentuates our boyish good looks.

We thank him profusely.

You won’t be disappointed.

On a side note; that contest a few weeks ago? Yes, we won thanks to wonderful people like you.

We are mixing our fourth single.
"SHE’S TURNING GREEN / CHLORINE" will be available before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, we are recording a concept record. (See above photo.) All of the songs are new, most of which we have never played live.
Stay tuned.

Listen/download: Single #3 by The Atolls

I love when I find local bands that I find interesting. The Atolls have been knocking around for a couple years now and continue to surprise me with each single release. Their stuff has gotten more varied and “Kitten” has a real bluesy influence to it, while “Disco grins” shows this two man outfit has a pretty wide ranging musical catalogue to draw from. Overall a really exciting new development from a band to watch!

Thanks to Jonathan for the kind words, as well as being one of the first to write about our band.

They play what they call “cottage cheese” rock music. The Atolls hail from the suburbs of Los Angeles.

Check out their music at http://theatolls.bandcamp.com. And know more about them on their Facebook page. Aaaand, this is where they Tumblr. Follow and listen to their #3 single Kitten. Took me back to the old 90’s garage rock music for some reason. It’s awesome!

Enjoy Indie faces!

Thanks to Indiecation!
